About the Director
Mr. Frank Jones

Frank W. Jones, Jr. ,the Director of Families First, has a long history in the Not-For-Profit sector. Frank comes to Families First after serving four years with The Children’s Storefront, a private Not-For-Profit independent school in New York City, serving 180 students from Kindergarten through the 8th grade. While there he served as Director of Operations and Business Manager. Prior to his employment at the school, Frank served as the Deputy Executive Director of Carver Center, an after school program, for five years, designing programs and administrative policies and procedures for the after school programs and the summer day camp staff and youth between the ages of 6 to 21 years old in Port Chester, New York.

As a young man, Frank began his career with one of the oldest Not-For-Profit Social Service agencies in New York City, The New York City Mission Society. He was employed with them for 35 years serving in various positions with the Cadet Corps Branch in the South Bronx, an after-school educational, recreational and cultural program serving over 3,500 youth ages 6 to 21. His first position at the age of 17 was as the program secretary for the Cadet Corps and he rose through the ranks over the years, working with thousands of families and children. In his last 11 years with the Cadet Corps Branch he served as its Executive Director managing a 60,000 square ft. recreational, educational and cultural facility with 20 full time and 35 part-time employees. In addition to his responsibilities at the Cadet Corps Branch, during the course of his last three years he also served as the Executive Director of Minisink Branch of the New York City Mission Society. The Minisink Branch included a 40,000 square foot educational, recreational and cultural facility in Harlem. He was also responsible for the summer co-ed residence camp in Dover Plains, New York, housing over 500 youth between the ages of 6 and 17 years of age and 125 camp counselors and camp staff on 250 acres of land.

He has served on various boards of Not-For-Profits organizations over the years and has served as the Eastern Region Vice President for the National Brotherhood of Skiers, responsible for some 26 Ski Clubs from Miami, Fl to Rochester, New York. He has been affiliated with a number of arts and fraternal organizations in New York City.

Frank is a graduate of Malcolm-King College with an Associates Degree in Business and received his BS Degree in Social Welfare from Adelphi University in Long Island City, New York. He also holds a certificate in Not-For-Profit Management from the Graduate Schools of Social Work and Business at Columbia University in New York City. Frank has received a number of awards for his service to the families and youth of New York City.

Frank is very enthusiastic about coming to Families First and working with the Pen Agryl community to build a better life for families and children.
